At CDI - Pune, we have been using 21st Century applications such as Clinical Information System, Laboratory Information System, and Electronic Medical Records since end 2010 and although we are yet to put into use all the features it appears and we are reasonably certain that these applications have the capability to improve the productivity and efficiency of clinic management. The application is user friendly and help us to store the patient clinical record in a proper way with very little need for manual intervention. We are also using 21st Century PACS application for our Radiology department which helps our Radiologist to prepare the patient report in more efficient way.

21st Century applications are process driven, professionally made with input from practicing clinicians and they are open to make the system "tailor-made" for different subspecialties. Currently, we use these applications for five specialities within the clinic and we find the EMR to be quite useful. Additionally their Laboratory Information System is also quite a methodical system which is found to help Pathologist & lab technicians to maintain the quality, integrity of test samples and all aspects of the testing and result review process.

Fusion is key in PET CT imaging and I did not expect an advanced 2D viewer in your system that supports fused images. The quality of images is excellent for fused images in compressed mode. The speed of archive process is fast. In fact it is faster than the speed at which the images are transferred from Console to the local workstation.

The workstation viewing software provided with the 21st Century AIS has been a great advantage as it helps to review the cases from different angles without losing the quality of the images. Another big advantage of implementing AIS is that radiologists are able to review and report the cases even when our CT/MRI modality is out of order, thereby avoiding inconvenience to our patients. As you know we have heavy patient loads of almost 50-60 cases of CT-scans and 30-40 cases of MRI each day!
